A highlight of the 60th Venice Biennale for me this year was the fantastic film and powerful installations by artist Wael Shawky in the Egypt Pavilion.
Though Shawky’s work appears at various locations in Venice during the Biennale, he was a tour de force for Egypt, being the organiser (with his galleries and team) as well as the artist and curator for the show.
It was a pleasure to meet him and here is my article which is out today in the wonderful Cairo Scene and Scene Now.
