Presenting ‘Roots and Horizons: T/Racing Time’ exhibition with artist Maysaloun Faraj, CAP Kuwait

I was thrilled to collaborate with the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) Kuwait and artist Maysaloun Faraj on the occasion of her recent solo exhibition, ‘Roots and Horizons: T/Racing Time’ recently in Kuwait City. Together we guided visitors on a journey through 20 years of Art, introducing the artist’s conceptual ideas, the materials and tracing the evolution of images and motifs along the way! We touched on some of the key themes and techniques behind the works and highlighted the chronological layout of the exhibition. The Nakhla palm tree series, which refers to the date palm as a female (nakhla is a female noun in Arabic) was particularly powerful as the artist described some of the important women in her life, each represented and named with individual palm trees.

It was also my pleasure to write the introduction to the exhibition catalogue, which is available to order from CAP Kuwait.
